For the past thirty-eight years, SETEC has proudly provided UL accredited monitoring services for our Dealers. SETEC has always recognized the value of establishing a redundant central station in a separate and distinct geographic area that would strengthen our continuity of operations and meet our UL requirements.

 

Through a partnership with Lydia Security Monitoring, Inc. d/b/a United Central Control (“UCC”), we are taking the first step to provide this enhanced level of service for our Dealers. SETEC monitoring services performed under your Dealer Agreement will soon be conducted by UCC as a subcontractor to SETEC. This enhancement will have no other impact on our agreement and will provide a smooth transition with no disruption to our monitoring services. SETEC expects this change to not only provide enhanced redundancy but also give you access to additional customized and innovative monitoring services.

 

SETEC has chosen UCC based on the high quality of traditional monitoring services they provide and their capability to provide cleared UL 2050 monitoring. Founded in 1982, UCC services over 1,000 independent alarm companies representing 370,000 end-user subscribers. They operate out of two UL Listed state-of-the-art monitoring facilities that are redundant and geographically separated. In addition to industry-renowned monitoring services, we were impressed by UCC’s commitment to a continuous improvement model for monitoring services. Their facilities are advanced and can provide the redundancy we require  for automation, power, telecommunications, facilities, and even staffing. Here are some notable highlights of UCC enhanced services:

 

  • TMA “Five Diamond” rated operator: The highest industry rating a central station can earn for dispatcher training excellence.
  • Video Monitoring: A dedicated team supports both Video Verification and Remote Interactive Video Monitoring services utilizing the Immix automation platform which supports over two hundred video solutions. In addition, UCC supports CheKT, DMP, Bosch and Alarm.com video services directly within its Stages monitoring software. 
  • ASAP to PSAP program (Automated Secure Alarm Protocol): Allows participating central monitoring stations to send dispatch information electronically to communications centers in a faster and more reliable manner. 
  • Additional Services: RSPNDR guard response, IncidentCode.com, text message notifications to your customers for alarm events, email reports, a robust dealer access portal that gives you insights into – and control of – your customer base.

SETEC is confident that extending our services through UCC is the best option available to meet our UL requirements and expand the services available to our Dealers. We anticipate completing the transition of monitoring services by the end of August 2025.
